Bristle Care & End-of-Life Guide

Materials

• Handle: Made from Moso Bamboo — a fast-growing, biodegradable, and sustainably sourced material.
• Bristles: Nylon (BPA-free). Adult multipacks also include one charcoal-infused nylon bristle toothbrush. Nylon bristles are not biodegradable and must be separated before composting the handle.

When to Replace

Dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every month, or when the bristles become splayed or frayed. For children's brushes, check more frequently as bristles can wear faster.

How to Dispose of Your Brush

• Step 1 — Remove the bristles: Use pliers to pull the bristles out of the brush head, or snap off the head entirely. This takes around 30 seconds.
• Step 2 — Dispose of bristles: Place the nylon bristles in your general waste bin. They cannot be composted or recycled via standard household recycling.
• Step 3 — Compost or dispose of the handle: The bamboo handle can be placed in a home compost bin or garden waste collection. It can also go into general waste, where it will biodegrade far faster than plastic. Do not place the handle in standard household recycling.

Please note: the bristles are not compostable. Only the bamboo handle is suitable for composting once the bristles have been removed.
